Joe started his career in the title insurance industry in 1979, following service with the United States Marine Corps. During this time, he has held nearly every title position in the industry, starting as a messenger and working his way up to senior management and the technical position of Chief Title Officer. He has worked within and been exposed to every area of expertise within a title insurance company. He has learned to apply his leadership skills to training employees in developing the judgement, initiative and motivation necessary to excel in their professional and personal endeavors. As a senior corporate officer, Joe gained additional knowledge in the escrow and marketing procedures of a title company as they relate to the overall function of the company in its interaction with customers. As the son and brother of real estate agents, he has been able to relate to agents and brokers in prioritizing the specialized products and service they require. He is also well versed in the leadership and close coordination necessary to increase and hold a “capture rate” with a JV partner, an undertaking unique and different from that encountered in a standard title and escrow operation.
Joe's specific areas of expertise include new home subdivision development, trustee's sales, underwriting, title officer individual development and team management practices and procedures. In addition, Joe works closely with the marketing, business development and management professionals of the companies he does business with to develop and increase market share and revenue. He is always available to teach classes to sales agents, loan officers and other industry professionals on a wide variety of real estate subjects, with class sizes ranging from one to fifty people.
Joe currently serves on the Board of Directors of Administration of Resources & Choices (ARC) (arc-az.org), a nonprofit agency serving Tucson, Southern Arizona and the Phoenix Metro area. ARC specializes in furnishing elder care and social support, as well as providing information and counseling for housing acquisition, foreclosure counseling and various real estate, security and shelter services. Joe is also Secretary of Title Plant Corporation (TPC), the company that provides real property title plant records and services for all the title companies in Pima County.
He was a member of the Arizona Trustee Association for 29 years and has been awarded the professional designations of Certified Senior Title Examiner (CSTE) and Arizona Land Title Professional (ALTP) by the Land Title Association of Arizona and he has been designated a National Title Professional (NTP) by the American Land Title Association, one of only three in the State of Arizona. Joe is married, with two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading history, camping, golf and target shooting and has resided in Arizona for 47 years.
